Help
- I only get an automatic answering machine.
The international access code for Norway is 00, (this is valid most over Europe).
Problem:
You get an automatic answering machine in the country you are calling
from, saying: "This number is not in use".
Possible solution:
1 You have to check the international
access code and the country code, you are using, to see if they are correct.
You also have to check the first digit in the area code. Since you get
an error from the country you are calling from, most likely one of these
is wrong. It might be you have a zero in the area code that should have
been deleted. Only in exceptional cases we have to use this zero.
2 It might be that the telephone you are using is closed for long-distance telephone calls.
3 You can also try to call your international inquiry and have them check it out. They have a list over all changes concerning country codes and area codes. In Norway this service has the telephone number 181, and is open 24 hours.
